Ways to Give

  • To give online simply scroll to the top of this page. There you will have the option to Support a Missionary, Support a Campus, or Support a Student Intern online with a credit card or bank withdrawal.

    You can also give online through your Donor Portal, which allows you to use any saved payment methods to make it quick and easy.

  • Donating appreciated securities, including stocks or bonds, is easy and tax-effective. Please contact Gift Operations at gifts@spo.org to give a stock gift.

General Giving Questions

  • You can update your contact information one of two ways:

    1. Login to your Donor Portal and click View Profile or My Profile.  You will have the option to update your personal information and your contact information by simply clicking on the update button.

    2. You can contact our Gift Operations team via email or phone to update your information: gifts@spo.org or 651-451-6114 ext. 410

  • Yes!

    1. Missionary - Go to the Find a Missionary page and scroll through the list to find the Missionary you would like to preference your gift to. When you click on the name it will bring you to their personal donation page where you can then click on the Join their Support Team’s button.  Here you can sign up for a gift in support of the Missionary.

  • Yes! Go to the Find a Campus page, scroll through the list, and select the Campus you would like to give a gift towards. Once you click on a Campus, you have the option to choose one of our key initiatives on campus to support, choose whether you want to make a one-time donation or a recurring gift, and the amount you’d like to donate.

  • You can access your SPO giving history one of two ways:

    1. View your giving history on your Donor Portal

      • On your Donor Portal you can view your giving history by clicking on Giving History. Once you do so, you will be able to see a list of all donations you have made to SPO. If you are a long-time donor, you may have many pages of history and can click on the page number at the bottom to navigate through your gifts.

      • You can also have a statement emailed to you by clicking on Giving History button in the Donor Portal, then Email Statement. Note: this statement is not a tax receipt. You should expect to receive your tax receipt from us by the end of January. 

    2. You can also contact us at gifts@spo.org or 651-451-6114 ext. 410 and request a giving history statement.

  • Yes! You can do so by contacting us at gifts@spo.org or 651-451-6114 ext. 410 and let us know who you’d like to switch your support to and we will be able to take care of that for you.

    Note: At this time it is not possible to switch which Missionary your gift is in support of on the Donor Portal.

Recurring Gift Questions

  • You can change your monthly gift amount one of two ways:

    1. Log in to your Donor Portal and click on the recurring gifts button. From here you can click on the gift amount of the recurring gift you are looking to change. This will bring you to the details page for the gift you would like to change.  In the gift information box you will click on the pencil next to “scheduled amount”. Here you will be able to enter a new gift amount and click update. 

    2. You can also contact us at gifts@spo.org or 651-451-6114 ext. 410 and we will be able to make that change for you.

  • You can update your payment method one of three ways:

    1. In your Donor Portal you can save and edit payment methods to use for all your giving in the Payment Methods section. You can also go to Recurring Gifts and click the pencil icon next to Payment Method to edit your payment method there.

    2. You can also update your payment information outside of the Donor Portal by filling out this form: Update Your Monthly Gift. This brings you to a secure Adobe form that you can complete online.  You can change your banking information and choose to resume payments the next month or authorize a one time payment to catch up for the month(s) that your payment was declined.

    3. Or you can update your payment information via email or phone by contacting our Gift Operations Team at gifts@spo.org or 651-451-6114 ext. 410.

  • You can stop your recurring gift payments one of two ways:

    1. In your Donor Portal, you can stop your gift by clicking on the Recurring Gifts button on your home page. You can click on the individual gift dollar amount which will take you to the details of the gift.  You can click on the End Payments button. You will have the option to just skip a payment or you can end the payment.  

    2. Or you can contact us at gifts@spo.org or 651-451-6114 ext. 410 and we can take care of it for you.

  • You can skip your recurring gift payments one of two ways:

    1. In your Donor Portal, you can skip your gift by clicking on the Recurring Gifts button on your home page.. You can click directly on the individual gift dollar amount which will take you to the details of the gift.  Then click on the Skip Payments button. You will have the option to choose the date that you would like to start up payments again.  Enter that date and click the Save button.   

    2. Or you can contact us at gifts@spo.org or 651-451-6114 ext. 410 and we can take care of it for you.

Donor Portal Questions

  • Login to your Donor Portal here

    If you are a pre-existing donor, you should also have received an email announcing our new Donor Portal and inviting you to create a login on 7/19/24. 

    If you are a new donor, you can click on the Donor Portal link and it will prompt you to set up your login information.  Once set up, you will be able to see your giving history and your active gifts, update your contact and payment information, make changes to your monthly gift, such as skipping, stopping or adjusting the amount.

    Note: If you are unable to create a login, it is likely because we don't have the correct email address on file for you. Contact our Gift Operations Team at gifts@spo.org or 651-451-6114 ext.410 and they will be able to help you get set up.

  • On your Donor Portal, if you click on the Recurring Gifts button you can manage all of your current monthly gifts.  By clicking on an individual gift, you will be able to make changes by clicking on the pencil next to the type of change you are looking to make.

    • You can adjust the amount of your gift by clicking on the pencil next to “scheduled amount” in the gift information box.. Here you will be able to enter a new gift amount and click update. 

    • You can change your payment method on the Donor Portal if you are choosing to pay via credit card or your bank account.  Simply click on the pencil in the Payment method box and you can enter your updated information here.

    • You can change the frequency of your gift by clicking on the pencil next to Frequency in the Gift Information box. Here you will have the ability to change to either monthly or quarterly and you can put the date that you’d like this change to take effect.  Click the update button when finished.  

    • You can stop, skip or hold payments for your gift on the Donor portal as well.  These three options are handled by clicking on the respective buttons toward the top of the page when you are in the gift details.  

  • At this time the Donor Portal does not have the functionality to display the name of the Missionary associated with your gift. As a result, you will be unable to see which of your gifts are preferenced to a Missionary in your Donor Portal. If you would like to know which of your gifts are preferenced to which Missionaries, you can contact us at gifts@spo.org or 651-451-6114 ext. 410 and our Gift Operations team will provide you with that information.

  • The Payment Methods section of the Donor Portal only houses payments methods that you have manually added to your Donor Portal. Saving payment methods on your Donor Portal allows you to more easily set up gifts in the future and update your payment methods should your account or card information change.

    You can view payment methods for any of your previous gifts in the Giving History section, and for your active recurring gifts in the Recurring Gifts section.

    Certain payment methods, such as a Check or a Stock gift, will not appear in detail on your Giving History. If you would like to know more details about those payment methods you can contact us at gifts@spo.org or 651-451-6114 ext. 410 and we would be happy to assist you.

  • You will be unable to change your recurring gift amount in the Donor Portal if you previously opted in to cover the processing fees for your gift. This is due to the fact that the processing fee amount needs to be recalculated if you change your gift amount. 

    Instead, you can stop your current recurring gift, and then set up a new one through the Donor Portal Give page with the new amount you would like your gift to be.
