Why I became an SPO Missionary

I became an SPO Missionary because I felt like the Lord was calling me to give Him my life completely by saying yes to being a Missionary! I have seen firsthand the effect that pouring out Christ’s love to college students has on campus, specifically at the University of St. Thomas. I came into college yearning for a community and SPO gave me that space to freely be myself and grow closer to the Lord with the people around me. Through getting to know my Missionaries, I was able to see their boldness, their radical hospitality, generosity, and resting state of joy. I felt the call from the Lord to discern being a Missionary and couldn’t say no to such a radical next step. I want to be a vessel of the Lord’s love to college students who are going through four of the most impactful years of their lives. Serving with SPO gives me the opportunity to be Christ’s hands and feet and give Him my whole life. I am passionate about SPO’s mission, and I want to bring people into a community on fire for the Lord. I hope to make a difference in a student’s life the way that my Missionaries did for me.
