Why I became an SPO Missionary
I grew up in Poland, where Catholic principles were the foundation of a lot of our traditions, celebrations, and the overall way of life. Yet, even amongst all that, I did not understand what it meant to have a relationship with God, nor that I needed to choose to pursue it every day. A great gift to me was SPO's student retreat that I attended as a rising sophomore. I learned about charismatic worship for the first time. Through raising my hands in praise and singing with all the students, I felt a shift in my heart that God was more important than anything else in my life. Something changed internally. I was praising God with my entire self, in a way that I never have before. I recognized the reality of God, even though I have been taught about faith since I was little. The movement of the Holy Spirit in that time of worship revived my trust in Jesus. I know that there are so many people, like me, who were raised in the faith, but still don't truly understand their beliefs. Many of them still don't know Christ. Through charismatic worship God opens and transforms hearts. The Lord renewed my faith through this gift and I deeply desire to share it with others.
