Why I became an SPO Missionary

After initially drifting from the Catholic faith and then immersing myself in three years of active engagement with SPO—participating in Household activities, Formation sessions, leading small groups, spring break trips, retreats, and more—I underwent a profound transformation. Witnessing the sacrificial dedication of the Missionaries at Texas State University deeply impacted me. Their selflessness, evident in late-night discussions, challenging conversations, and moments of boundless patience and mercy, left an indelible impression. Inspired by their unwavering commitment to serving others, I am now compelled to emulate their example. I aspire to dedicate myself to the service of young people, recognizing the potential for my life to leave a lasting impact, just as theirs have before me.
